Recently, the West Bengal government has launched the OASIS Scholarship 2026-27 for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC). The full name of OASIS is Online Application for Scholarship in Studies. The West Bengal government has an online portal for this scholarship. The Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Development Department of the state is responsible for this project. There are a total of 7 scholarship schemes under this scholarship. All the students belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories who are studying from class 9 to PhD level can apply for this scholarship.

West Bengal Oasis Scholarship 2026-27

The OASIS Scholarship Portal has been launched for eligible students of West Bengal to apply for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship for the academic year 2026-27. To avail the benefits of this scheme, the applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal and must be studying in an educational institution within India. Also, the annual income of the applicant’s family should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakhs. The scholarship amount will be directly deposited in the bank account of the applicant.

Eligibility Criteria for OASIS Scholarship Students

To apply for this scholarship, the student must fulfill the following eligibility conditions.

1. The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state of West Bengal.
2. The applicant must be a student and belong to the SC, ST or OBC category.
3. The annual income of the applicant’s family can be a maximum of Rs. 2.50 lakhs. However, there is no specific limit on family income in the case of Component-2 project.
4. The school, college or educational institution in which the applicant is studying must be located in India.
5. To receive the scholarship money directly, the applicant must have a bank account in his own name.

While applying for this scholarship, the student has to carry or submit the following documents.

• Aadhaar card of the student, which should be linked to the bank account.
• Caste or class certificate of the student issued by the competent authority.
• Annual income certificate of the family.
• Marksheet of the previous academic year’s examination.
• Domicile or Residence Certificate to prove permanent residence of West Bengal.

Scholarship Amount 2026-27

The amount of OASIS Scholarship is not the same for everyone. The amount of scholarship depends on the class you are studying in, the department you belong to and the course you are studying in. There are two types of scholarships here – Pre-Matric and Post-Matric and students from SC, ST and OBC categories can apply for it. So the amount of scholarship may also be different for each. OASIS Scholarship Application Process

• Student Registration: First, register by providing the student’s name and required information.
• Fill in the application form: After registering, fill in the application form correctly with the required information.
• Submit the application along with the required documents
• Once the form is filled, submit the application form along with the required documents to the designated place.

OASIS Scholarship Student Registration Process

• First, go to the oasis.gov.in portal and click on the Student Registration option.
• Then select the required information like your school, college, district etc. and submit.
• In the next step, you have to enter the caste or category certificate number and the date of issue of the certificate. Then you have to enter the Captcha Code and Aadhaar Card Number and fill in other required information.
• Finally, create a Password and submit, your OASIS Scholarship registration will be complete and your account will be created.

OASIS Scholarship Application Form Filling Process

• First, log in to your account using the number and password obtained during registration.
• Next, it is mandatory to fill in all the fields marked with a red box in the application form.
• Then, provide the remaining required details—including account information and family income data—and complete the verification process via OTP.

Submit the OASIS Scholarship Form with Required Documents

• After filling the application form, take out a print copy.
• Submit the application form to your local BDO, SDO or designated government office within 15 days along with all the required self-signed documents.
