Kanyaratna Scheme: Rs 2,000 Support to West Bengal School Girls

After the new changes in the state of West Bengal under the new BJP Subhendu government, a new scheme called Kanyaratana Scheme has been announced in West Bengal instead of the Kanyashree Scheme implemented by the previous government. This Kanyaratana Scheme is going to be launched in the entire state of West Bengal from next year i.e. 2027. To get the benefits of this scheme, the beneficiary must be a girl child of West Bengal. Through this scheme, girl children will be given financial assistance of Rs. 2,000. On the other hand, in the previous Kanyashree Scheme, the government used to give financial assistance of Rs. 1,000. That is, along with the new name, the amount of financial assistance has also been changed in this scheme. Kanyaratna Scheme

Now that the BJP has won, the state of West Bengal has also joined the country’s largest education program ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and has announced a new financial assistance scheme for schoolchildren in the state. Under this scheme, every eligible girl child will be given a financial assistance of Rs 2,000 from the next new year i.e. 2027.

This new scheme has been launched in place of the old ‘Kanyashree’ scheme in the state and has been given a new name. In addition, the amount of financial assistance in the new scheme has been doubled compared to the amount given earlier. This scheme was announced by Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari.

During the announcement, the Chief Minister also said that this year, eligible school students will be given a one-time annual financial assistance of Rs 1,000. However, from next year, the amount will be doubled to Rs 2,000 every year. This year, a total of 20.13 lakh students will receive an annual financial assistance of Rs 1,000 in their bank accounts. A total budget of Rs 400 crore has been kept for the distribution of this money among the beneficiaries.

By launching such financial assistance schemes, the state wants to increase the number of girls in both education and employment. Features of Scheme

• The annual income of the student’s family should be Rs. 1.20 lakh or less.
• The age of the student should be between 13 and 18 years.
• The student must be studying in class VIII to XII or equivalent.
• The student must be a regular student of the school.

₹50,000 One-Time Higher Education Grant for Girls in West Bengal

There is another facility like Kanyashree Scheme Grant. A one-time higher education grant of Rs. 25,000 is given to girl students to continue their higher education. The present government has increased the amount of Kanyashree Grant from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000. Similarly, the one-time higher education grant has also been increased from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000. To get this grant of Rs. 50,000, the girl students have to fulfill certain qualifications. Those qualifications are given below.

• The student must be between 18 and 19 years of age.
• The student must be unmarried.
• The student must be studying in a higher education course, professional course or equivalent course.

• Proof of Educational Enrollment: Proof of enrollment in the higher education or professional course you are pursuing must be submitted. This must be verified by the head of the educational institution.
• Unmarried Status Declaration: A declaration stating that the female student is unmarried must be obtained from the Panchayat and submitted.

• Collect the form from your educational institution as per your eligibility. For example, if you want a scholarship of Rs. 2,000 per annum or a one-time higher education grant form.
• Now fill this form with all the correct information of the applicant as per the documents.
• If you do not have a bank account in your name, then first go to the bank and open an account. Because the money from this scheme will be directly transferred to your bank account.
• Then fill the savings bank account number in the application form and submit all the necessary documents along with the form.
